These large drawings were the subject of an exhibition at the gallery Joan Prats, Barcelona, in 1977, in conjuction with the "Nylon Works." As in those works, language here plays an important role. These drawings deal with our perception of the gesture (and all that signifies) and the photographs of cats, to the left of each work.
The installation drawings ("Ball Drop"series) in the studio were done using cat or fish drawings as a starting point and transposed on the wall above a UV sensitive paper. A ball, coverd in paint, was attached to a string and was suspended from each intersecting point. The ball was held to a 90 degree angle and let fall. This created a series of marks which fomed an arc on the light sensitve paper, creating a hybrid of the orginal cat or fish photograph.
